I don't know if you are like me, but this begining of year gives me a bad impression.
A first the ambiance is sad and everybody seems terrified about the crisis.
Second the weather is so cold, that we didn't put our nozes outside for a century.
And at least, we have lot's of stuffs to do with the new house we bought last december....
So finally to survive at allt this atmosphere.... we decided to drive away for a weekend...

And we choosed Brussels...

Not so far, not too closed, Brussels seems to be the ideal destination for 3 days...

We did some shopping the friday afternoon near Grand-Place area, place de la Monnaie, quartier Louise and just enjoyed warm waffles in Brussels streets. We love the smell of the burnt crispy sugar...

There is nothing more Belgian then a 'FRITKOT' It's cheap , greasy , unhealthy and we love it..... And of course, friday evening we have eaten the traditional "moules frites, bierre" (mussels, fries and beer) just around the corner of grand place.




We can't go in brussels without bring chocolates and speculoos. Everywhere in the city you'll find chocolate shops. There's chocolate and pralines for every taste. You should try out different sorts.

For the speculoos, only one adress is avalaible : Dandoy (butter street). Speculoos are spice cookies traditionally eaten in Belgium during the Christmas season. They are amazingly tasty and even addictive. I will give you the receipe in an other article.


They say : Belgium is the country with the best beer in the world (they try to be objective...).
But i think it's something like that in real ....

And all over the weekend we had time to drink good beers in restaurant. A bring some for good friends.

This weekend was wonderfull, it's the end of hibernation....
